2021 MAINE PARADE OF HOMES WINNERS NAMED

Chase Construction was named winner of the Judge’s Choice award. Southern Maine Remodeling was named People’s Choice Winner

Scarborough, ME, November 22, 2021 – The Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Maine (HBRAME) announced the winners of the inaugural 2021 Maine Parade of Homes event. Chase Construction of Wells was named the Judge’s Choice award winner for their submitted entry “Perkins Overlook”. The award for People’s Choice went to Southern Maine Remodeling of Scarborough for their submitted entry “Contemporary Addition”.

Maya Bogh, President of HBRAME, presents Colby Chase with the Judge’s Choice award in recognition of the Chase Construction Parade of Homes Entry ‘Perkins Overlook’

Judging panelist, and Founder of Maine Life Media, Erin Ovalle said “Each one had something so special but I think one definitely stood out for just overall greatness. The Perkins Overlook home has custom features like the stunning built-ins around the fireplace and a painted claw foot tub that really stood out. For me, small details go a long way, but the home has a great use of space overall. It is large, but doesn’t feel overwhelming.”

The Ogunquit home’s exceptional timber framing design takes it to a whole new level with beautiful use of color throughout. Trending features include a black metal staircase railing and built-in locker style shelving units for the mudroom. Unique interior features found in the home include an expansive custom library with a classic rolling library ladder, stained wood beams, wide shiplap paneling, and designer accent walls in the bathrooms and children’s bunk room.

The “Contemporary Addition” from Southern Maine Remodeling was also a stand out project at the Maine Parade of Homes and named winner of People’s Choice award. Southern Maine Remodeling built a large addition on the back of the Scarborough home to create an expansive new kitchen with a much needed pantry area.  The backyard received some upgrades as well: a new composite Azek deck, a patio with a firepit and hot tub area.

With the help of industry sponsors, including the Headlining Sponsors Hammond Lumber Company, OSC Web Design, and Maine Homes by Down East magazine, 9 projects were presented in a virtual format using 360° virtual reality technology. The properties ranged in location from urban to coastal to lake front.

Sarah Stebbins, Editor of Maine Homes by Down East magazine, said “I loved reading the stories contractors submitted and seeing their clever approaches to building dream homes and improving existing spaces. Their work changes people’s lives for the better and it was gratifying to play a small part in honoring them.”

All ticket sales from the 2021 Maine Parade of Homes will be donated to the Central Maine Community College next month. Tickets to view the Parade homes are still available for $5 at the website www.maineparadeofhomes.com
